On the editors annual day Sunday (14th March 2010) the Kannada cinema Editors Association honored the veteran editor Bapanna with a cheque of Rs.10000 and presented Rs.25000/- .to the family of recently demised Shivakumar.

Cameraman Bhasker brought to the notice of everyone that it is on this day 106 years ago the editing technology took its birth. Veteran of over 50 years once a pilot Bapanna later moved to this profession and worked with bigwigs like MR Vittal, Bhakthavatsala and others was felicitated by noted director SV Rajendra Singh Babu, director P Seshadri with the president of Editors Association Kemparaj on the dais.

The absence of many of the editors on the second Sunday irked reputed director SV Rajendra Singh Babu. He advised them not to repeat such absence.
